Winter Beauty Essentials

Considering the current weather conditions here in the UK, I couldn't think of a better post to share with you than my Winter Beauty Essentials. All of the products I am going to share are one I couldn't live without during the winter months.

I absolutely adore Soap and Glory products and these are two of my favourites. Every night when I have a bath or shower, these are essential and on those days when I'm in a rush I mix them together on my body buffer as they work perfectly together and leave your skin feeling silky smooth and refreshed. The body wash "Clean Girls" is in S&G's "Mist You Madly" scent and contains natural vanilla fruit and orchid extracts and what's even better is it has has a built-in moisturising system meaning I can skip on the moistursing on those days I'm feeling lazy or when I'm in a hurry. The body scrub "The Scrub of Your Life" is in the "Original Pink" scent and definitely lives up to its name! This scrub is perfect for my skin which easily gets dry especially during winter time and leaves it feeling instantly smooth. One of the best thing about S&G products is the scents last on your skin for at least a good few hours.

Usually, I hate body lotions because I hate that sticky texture you get which makes you feel dirty and clammy     which isn't nice after you've just had a refreshing shower. However, this is completely different, although it is quite thick in texture ( a little goes along way!) it dries in quite quickly and leaves you feeling and smelling absolutely beautiful - even after one use, you can say goodbye to dry elbows and knees.

Soap and Glory's Hand Food is my absolute favourite hand cream! Having only recently purchased it, I could now no longer live without it. Unlike other hand creams, this absorbs almost instantly and doesn't leave behind any sticky residue. Although I'm not a lover of the scent, I would never go back as it is just to perfect and leaves my hands feeling baby soft.

Liz Earle Eyebright - £10.25 150ml

I am a huge lover of Liz Earle products especially their Cleanse & Polish and their skin tonic. Although I use this product all year round, I would say it work particularly well during the winter months when your eyes are feeling dry due to the cold air. Every night I soak a cotton pad with small amount as it is a runny liquid texture - almost like water - and just swipe it over my eyes. However, when I have a headache or painful eye area I soak two pads and lie with them on my eyes for a good 10-15 minutes instantly cooling and soothing them. After using this product for a few days, you can definitely notice less blackness around your eye area.

Lip care is essential during the winter months and this Bubblegum Lip Scrub from Lush is a must have and tastes amazing! The scrub is made from castor sugar and because it's from Lush there's no need to worry about any harsh chemicals. All you need to remember is too not scrub too hard because you don't want to end up with chapped, scratched lips. The Nivea Lip Butters are also great, every night before bed, I apply this so I wake up with smooth lips which are perfect for applying lipstick the next day.

VO5 Smoothly Does It - £3.89 100ml

Within the first signs of humidity and dampness, my hair turns into a huge frizz ball. I received this VO5 product when it was first launched in a copy of Cosmopolitan magazine and fell instantly in love. This cream is non-sticky and is great and protecting from heat; all you need to do is apply a tiny amount to the palm of your hands and glide through the ends of wet hair so when you dry it, there are no signs of frizz and you are left with sleek, smooth hair whilst protecting from any damage - it's a win win situation.

What are your winter beauty essentials?

2013 Must Tries

1. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer - Boots
2. Topshop Highlighter - Topshop
3. Naked Palette - Debenhams
4. Essie Nail Polishes - Boots
 5. Bioderma - Ebay
 6. Mac Fix+ - Debenhams
7. Nars Blusher - House of Fraser

I'm ill in bed bored out of my mind and thought what better way to spend my day than hunting some beauty products I'd like to try this year.

Beauty bloggers around the world rave about these products and this year I plan to try them all. The Smashbox Photofinish Primer is considered one of the best in the beauty industry with it creating the perfect base for any foundation. Again, Bioderma is considered the holy grail of all make up cleansers and is supposed to leave your skin feeling super refreshed however, living in the UK makes it hard to find but you can find some good deals on Ebay.

This Christmas I received the Naked 2 Palette and fell in love with it and now I want to try the original "NAKED" but do you think its worth it when I already own the Naked 2? Finally I cannot wait to try MACs Fix+; this water substance is said to leave your make up looking fresh and dewy taking away any dryness allowing your make up to stay refreshed all day long.

Which beauty products can you not wait to try this year?

Top 10 Winter Nail Polishes

It is without doubt that nail polish is my most purchased beauty product - my aim is to own one in every colour possible! This post is to show you my most worn polishes throughout the winter and hopefully give you some inspiration. From the above image you can probably see reds/purples are my most worn.

1. Essie Beyond Cozy

Believe it or not, being a huge nail polish hoarder, this was my first ever Essie purchase! Yes I know... how did I resist for so long? When Essie first launched in the UK beauty bloggers and girls everywhere were raving about them, but I just thought "nope, they'll be just like any other polish" but when they released their Winter '12 collection this was the perfect glittery shade of gold/silver I'd wanted for so long so took the plunge. I've got to say I was stupid to resist for so long, they apply perfectly and last for ages. Also, this shade goes with absolutely any outfit so it's a win win situation.

2. Essie Leading Lady

This was my second Essie polish however, this time I didn't buy it, I won it through a Cosmopolitan Magazine competition which involved answering a question about this actual nail polish. It is again from the Winter '12 collection and was the perfect shade of red for over Christmas when I didn't have my Christmas nail art (see my previous post). Although its a quite a Christmassy polish with all of the glitter I still love to wear it during the other winter months as it adds a pop of colour to any outfit and also makes a great statement nail alongside another colour.

3. Barry M Bright Red

Barry M are one of my favourite brands for nail polishes and this vibrant red is one of my go to nail polishes whether it be winter or summer - during the winter months it is perfect for brightening up any day and any outfit and for £2.99 what's not to love?!

4. Barry M Bright Purple

This is again one of my favourite Barry M polishes and is a perfect wintry shade. It is my go to purple shade during the winter months as it isn't too bright but isn't too dark either.

5. No7 Sing The Blues

I absolutely adore this polish which came in a set of 5 different metallic colours - it's an electric, vibrant blue and is absolutely stunning to finish off an outfit; especially when wearing jeans.

6. No7 Rose Truffle

As you can see it's another shade of red! This time, I'd say this was more of a dusty red, therefore if you're not feeling vibrant and out there then this is the one to choose. No7 nail polishes are brilliant to apply as they have the perfect width brush and what's even better is when Boots are giving out their "£5 off No7 vouchers" then you can them for only £2 each.

7. Avon Noir Emerald

Avon Nail Polishes are once again fabulous - they apply easily with their wide brushes and also last for at least a week. This shade is a deep green almost verging on black yet when it hits the light it highlights the green (hence the name).

8. Maybelline Divine Wine

Oh look another red-purple shade. I think that's all I need to say!

9. Models Own Blizzard

Models Own polishes are brilliant - not only do they offer a wide selection of colours but they glide on like a dream. I love this glitter polish but only tend to wear it on one nail as a statement and usually on top of a neutral polish.

10. Nails Inc Trafalgar Square

I'm not really a fan of Nails Inc polishes as I find them overly priced for the quality of the product - they're extremely watery and chip easily. However, this shade is from their Magnetic collection (the only one out of the 3 I bought which ever actually worked which is again a let down from such a high end company). But I do love this polish as it is unique and looks fab.

So there you have it, my top 10 winter polishes. What polishes do you love to wear during the winter months?
