Oscars Fashion: The Best and The Worst...

I was very happy with the winners of last nights Oscars but wish I could have watched them (stupid time difference!) however, I still can't believe Ben Affleck wasn't nominated for best movie - DISGRACEFUL!

The first thing I did this morning when I woke up was grabbed my iPhone and began searching my twitter to see what the stars were all wearing and I am pleased to say there were a lot more outfits to choose from for "Best Dressed" than at last weeks Brit Awards *REJOICE*.

L-R: Jennifer Lawrence; Naomi Watts; Amanda Seyfried
Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts and Amanda Seyfried for me were without the doubt the best dressed of the night - they all looked absolutely beautiful. Minimalistic and very glam rather than OTT! I love how they all had their hairs tied up giving the dress more show and elegance but finished the look with a smokey eye to add an edge and bring out their face.
L-R: Jennifer Hudson; Charlie Theron; (not sure of her name..?)
As well as Jennifer, Naomi and Amanda I also thought these three ladies looked absolutely stunning. Jennifer looked stunning in this blue sparkly number, Naomi wowed in this white sculptured dress and this black and white dress is unique but still looks beautiful and is great for the monochrome trend. Again each girl kept their look minimalistic by not over accessorizing or going over the top with their hair style.
L-R: Brandi Glanville; Helen Hunt; Nancy O'dell
Although there were a lot of nice dresses walking the red carpet at the Oscars, there were also some pretty hideous ones too. Has Brandi Glanville never heard the rule "don't show both cleavage and legs at once!" - I personally feel if this dressed had been enclosed up top and a different colour then it may not have been as bad. Helen Hunt looked like she needed a good iron and Nacy O'dell was just plain horrid.
L-R: Miranda Kerr; Helen Bonham Carter; Liberty Ross
Miranda Kerr usually looks phenomenal but this dress just does not suit her at all and she certainly didn't need all of the jewellery with the embellishments on the actual dress. Helen Bonham Carter looked horrific - but that's no surprise because she always does! And Liberty Ross was just a massive fail - she looks ready to walk the red light district rather than the red carpet!

These are all my own views and you may or may not agree with them but I'd love to hear who you thought looked good and who you thought looked terrible so leave a comment below!

Miss Guided Lust List...

Online shopping is probably my biggest weakness in life and I am a HUGE fan of Miss Guided. You can find fabulous clothing for reasonable prices!

I absolutely love the items I have featured in this post and will definitely be purchasing a few - my favourite is the jacket but unfortunately they've sold out of my size (sad face) so I'll just have to pray they bring it back. These sandals are also gorgeous and are very similar to ones in Zara expect these are half the price! I love the leather panel skirt as its bang on trend and would look great with the grey T-shirt and boots for a casual daytime look.

What do you prefer - online shopping or going to the shops?

Brit Awards Fashion: The Best and The Worst...

What a night for British music! I was quite happy with the winners however, I do believe Mumford and Sons deserved Best Album as they are pure excellence and I was so happy for Ben Howard picking up two awards (yey!)

Like many other bloggers out there, my eyes weren't only on the awards being won but what the stars themselves were wearing and I can't say I was overly impressed -  there were a lot of fashion disasters and not many WOW moments.
L-R: Taylor Swift; Jessie J; Laura Whitmore; Aluna Francis
For me, if there was an award for "best dressed" the winner without a doubt would be Taylor Swift - she looked elegant AND sexy showing Harry Styles exactly what he's missing! Her smokey black eye and nude lip with a choppy loose hairstyle finished the look perfectly adding a little edge.  Jessie J would closely follow in the style stakes as she also looked absolutely flawless; the revealing black dress and minimalistic make up looked phenomenal. Laura Whitmore chose a short metallic number and with legs like hers why not?! Again, she too looked beautiful paring her dress with nude heels, loose curls and a fierce smokey eye. Finally, Aluna Francis' dress was simply stunning - this glittery number paired with loose flowing curls and smokey eyes looked perfect on her.
L-R: Katherine Jenkins; Berenice Marlohe; Rita Ora; Gemma Arterton
Only one question comes to my mind when I look at these dresses and that is "DO THESE PEOPLE OWN MIRRORS?!" Katherine Jenkins usually the style star looked horrendous in this over sized bluey-yellow dress and lets not even talk about the mismatched bright pink lipstick. Berenice Marlohe looked like an extra for the tin man or maybe she had in fact crafted the dress herself from tin foil? Rita Ora looked like she was wearing a gaudy shower curtain from the 70s and Gemma Arterton looked like she belonged on someones Christmas tree.

There were definitely more fashion distastes than WOW moments and I honestly believe the men did better in the style stakes than the majority of the women!
L-R: One Direction (Liam, Louis, Zayn, Niall, Harry); Justin Timberlake
All that needs to be said is SWOOOOOON

Who did you think looked good at the Brit Awards?

Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick Review...

I've been after a new lipstick for quite sometime now as I don't own that many so whilst out shopping a couple of weeks ago, I decided to pick up one of the Kate Moss Matte Lipsticks after hearing so many great reviews about them!

There is a quite a good selection of colours in the collection but I opted for shade 101 which is a light dusty pink (I'm not brave enough for bright reds and dark purples just yet!!) and I absolutely love it! I'm always wearing neutral make up and feel this just adds a natural pop of colour to my face.
The only downside of this product is with it being a matte lipstick it tends to cling to dry patches so I suggest lots of lip balm the night before and whilst you are getting ready before applying the product.

Overall, I am very impressed with this lipstick and will definitely be trying more!

Which Kate Moss lipsticks do you like?

Win £75 to spend at marc b. & £175 to spend at ASOS!

etail PR have teamed up with Marc B and ASOS to give us lucky bloggers a chance to win £75 to spend at marc b and £175 to spend at ASOS!

All you need to do is create a collage of a look including a marc b handbag and ASOS clothing - you can take a look at the marc b range here and the ASOS collection here

For my chosen look, I chose the Avril Black Handbag from marc b's collection and paired it with these monochrome diamond print pants and thought this simplistic shirt would look great tucked in. The necklace will add some show to the shirt and the boots will add a finishing touch. Finally, this 'cotigan' would be great to throw over to keep nice and snug! This look is also bang on trend for next seasons Monochrome trend.

If you would like to enter this amazing competition then you can find out more details here

SS13// Monochrome Madness

Moschino//Jason Wu//Balenciaga//Moschino
Spring is just around the corner and our wardrobes are ready for a serious overhaul - goodbye big comfy jumpers hello shorts! Each year, it is without a doubt that girly, floral, pastel fashions will be taking over the high street. However, this year to the shock of many fashionistas, Monochrome was seen all over the catwalks for this years SS collection. I absolutely love this trend as black and white looks flattering on anyone and I think it is going to be a huge success. You can look girly, edgy and elegant all at the same time - just think Audrey Hepburn and you've got the picture!

Here are some Monochrome trends which you will be able to find on your local high street:

1. Panelled Peplum - River Island
2. Houndstooth Pleated Shorts - Topshop
3. Printed Slippers - Miss Selfridge
4. Mono Floral Playsuit - Topshop
5. Multi Stripe Blouse - River Island
6. Daisy Trim Shorts - Miss Selfridge

Will you be joining in with this trend?

Topshop and H&M Lust List

1. Cross Pants - H&M
2. Floral Peplum - H&M
3. Mono Floral Playsuit - Topshop
4. Burgundy Blouse - H&M
5. Baroque Print Trousers - H&M

Okay, so I named this post "Topshop and H&M Lust List" however, I can now see it consists mostly of H&M! I absolutely love the items I have listed above and will definitely be purchasing a few. My two favourites are the Topshop playsuit and the Baroque Print  trousers from H&M and because monochrome is going to be huge this season I have a feeling I will be purchasing these two items.
