What's In My Handbag...

Money Supermarket have done it again!

For the last few days I've been reading lots of these "What's In My Handbag" posts and knew I had to write one for two reasons: 1) I've never written one before and 2) Money Supermarket are giving us bloggers the chance to bag (no pun intended!) a Mulberry Bayswater, a Mulberry Continental Purse and a Mulberry Phone Cover in the colour of your choice. Talk about a girls dream competition! I've been a huge fan of Mulberry for such a long time and if you read my "Designer Handbag Lust List" you might have seen that this was one of the bags I have been lusting after for quite a while now.

So with that little introduction, lets take a look into my handbag...
First up is the bag itself (sorry the image isn't very good). I've been looking for a monochrome bag for so long now and finally, whilst out shopping last weekend, I picked up this gorgeous tote style bag from New Look and what's even better is it only cost me £14.99 meaning when the monochrome trend fades, I won't feel guilty about not using it. The shape of the bag reminds me of the Celine which I absolutely love! The only downside to the bag is there are no inside compartments but that doesn't really bother me because I managed to come up with a solution to this.
As you can see there is plenty of room in the bag for all of your necessities and whatever other junk necessities we must carry. I'd definitely say the bag looks more Zara than New Look so if you're after a bargain monochrome bag then this is for you.
This is the purse I have been using for the past few months, I had wanted a new purse for a quite a while as the clasp on mine had broke but I couldn't find one I liked but then my mam bought me this Cath Kidston one for Christmas (unfortunately I'm not sure how much it cost but I'd guess around £20) and I love it - it's the perfect size with lots of compartments.
Inside of my purse I keep some cash and change, my cards which include my student discount, my boots advantage card and my gym membership and as you can see there are lots of compartments.
I also keep a set of earphones in my bag for when I need escapism or just something to keep me occupied, my keys and my iPhone - I've only pictured the case because I use my phone to take my pictures, you can find this case on Amazon for about £10-£15.
Wherever I go, I always take this mini Cath Kidston Make Up Bag with me (again, I'm unsure of the price because I won it) as it is perfect for holding my daily touch ups. Inside this make up bag, I currently have my MAC Mineralise Skin Finish (£20.50), a Collection Concealer (£4.19), a Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in shade 101 (£5.45), a Benefit Waterproof Eyeliner (£15) and two RT make up brushes for touch ups.
I also carry my Tangle Teezer with me wherever I go as I have quite thick, long hair which can be a nightmare to brush but I find this does the job perfectly and is so gentle. I also carry my Marc Jacobs Daisy miniature with  me for top ups throughout the day.
If doesn't matter if I'm going to sixth form, or going shopping, I always take this silver make up bag with me - it isn't the most attractive bag but its perfect for what I use it for. Inside this bag, I store my vitamins, paracetamol, plasters, hand sanitiser, hair bobbles and all sorts of other little bits and pieces. I picked this up a couple of years ago from Superdrug for about £2 as I knew that this is what I was going to use it for so it didn't need to be anything flashy.

Finally, I always carry an umbrella with me as I live in the UK and as everyone knows you never know when it's going to rain and I also carry a little notebook just in case I need to write something down.

Altogether, I would say the contents of handbag on a day to day basis adds up to around £150-£200 which is quite a lot of money considering the actual bag was only £14.99!

I would definitely encourage everyone to write one of these posts as you have nothing to lose and the prizes are amazing! Collective Haul....

Over the last month I've been on quite a bit of a spending splurge so I thought I would share my latest purchases with you all as I - like many other bloggers - love to read haul posts to see what things people are buying and what's in the shops as I am incredibly nosy.

I'll start off with the clothing, shoes and accessories I've recently purchased...
On a trip to the Metro Centre, I picked up this gorgeous aztec midi skirt from Dorothy Perkins for only £16. I absolutely love midi skirts as they can be both dressed up and dressed down for a more casual look. I will probably wear this with a plain black tee with wedges and a statement necklace for a dressed up look or my sandlas or Vans for a casual shopping trip/lunch with friends look.
Whilst at the Metro Centre, I also picked up these wedges from Primark - of course for only £10 a pair I had to have both colours! The black ones will be great with any outfit and I love the orange ones for during the summer months to add some vibrancy to my outfits.
Whilst I was shopping in Durham I picked up this beautiful aztec midi dress from New Look for around £14.99. I love aztec because I find it very flattering for my figure as I'm no stick insect and think it will be lovely during the summer months. I recently wore it for an afternoon lunch out with my family  with the orange Primark Wedges and my denim jacket.
I also picked up this chunky gold chain from River Island for £12. I've seen so many people wearing these lately and I'm not going to lie at first I wasn't so keen but then I saw a blogger wearing one with her outfit (sorry I can't remember who) and knew I had to have one! It took me ages to find one I liked because I didn't want it to look cheap but I didn't want it to be heavy. This one is ideal - it's a lovely shiny gold and quite lightweight too.
Just yesterday, I went to York with my mam and dad for the day. We decided to have a look into the designer outlet after getting back from York itself. Last time I was there was before Christmas and I really liked this shirt (please excuse the creases I need to iron it) but unfortunately they had ran out of my size but luckily for me (but not my purse) they had it back in stock! It is a lovely vibrant pink stripe shirt and will look lovely with a pair of blue jeans; it will also look nice left open with a plain white tee underneath. These are supposed to be around £70 in shops I think but this was reduced down to £54.99 and then even further to only £34.99 which is quite a saving!
I also picked up this polo shirt in a bright vibrant pink for £24.99 reduced from £44.99 (again excuse the creases). I already own a couple of these and love them during the summer months under my blazers or even  with jeans - I really like them for those days in sixth form when I really can't be bothered!
I've been searching for a pair of black sandals for quite sometime now and I finally found a pair I liked! I picked these up from New Look whilst in York for £17.99 - I love flat sandals for during the summer as I'm certainly not the sort of girl who goes shopping in heels.

Moving away from clothing and shoes, I have also picked up some beauty items over the last month - surprisingly I haven't bought any make up (gold star for Jenny!)
Firstly, I headed into Boots to pick up some body scrub and ended up walking out with a body scrub, a body lotion and a body wash (don't blame me, blame 3 for 2!) I love Soap and Glory products and have used this body scrub and wash for as long as I can remember so thought it was about time I picked up the body lotion - I'm already hooked!
Most beauty bloggers have probably heard about Escentual; well for those of you who don't know they are a website which sell some amazing beauty products. Everyday throughout the month of June they are offering a 1/3 off french pharmacy products including everything from Bioderma to La Roche Posay to Vichy. I took full advantage of this and finally jumped on the Bioderma bandwagon! I purchased two 250ml bottles for £13 in stead of £20. I also picked up a La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo for £8 instead of £13 as I am almost through the tube I am currently using and being a girl who can't resist a bargain, I also picked up the La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I Targeted Breakout Corrector to try - this was £7 instead of £10.50.
Finally, whilst in York, I picked up this Cath Kidston wash bag for when I go on holiday to match my make up bags for £18. I really wanted something like this to put all of my creams inside.

What have you been buying over the last month?

Designer Handbag Lust List...

Like most girls, I dream of having a collection of designer handbags that even Victoria Beckham and the Kardashians would envy. However, being a student its more Primark than Prada for me (not that I don't love a good bargain)! I do already own a couple of designer handbags but I'd love to add to my mini collection.

Here I have pictured some of the designer handbags I really love and obviously I had to feature the classic Chanel - it should be a must have item for any wardrobe. I also love the Mulberry Bayswater, Prada Saffiano and Celine Tote - they could be used for both day and night and would make any outfit look fab. Only today did I add the Lulu Guinness Annabelle to my never ending lust list; I've never really been a fan of her bags but today I saw this one featured on QVC and instantly fell in love with it - I just think the lips allow it have a quirky twist and it would also be perfect for a night out as it's a nice size.

My 18th birthday is fast approaching and my mam has said if I'd like she will buy me a new designer handbag so I'm thinking of asking for the Mulberry Willow as I absolutely love it! Not only is it sophisticated but stylish, its perfect for fitting all of my essentials inside for during the daytime and then its even got the added bonus of a detachable clutch ideal for nighttime - why have one bag when you can have two?!

What designer bags are you lusting after or which one have you already splurged on?
