The Blogger Made Me Buy It...

I've seen quite a few of these posts lately and have really enjoyed reading them so I just had to get involved even though I haven't officially been tagged. The blogging community has a huge effect on one another when it comes to what we buy whether its that lipstick we really don't need or that palette we're lusting after we're all guilty of being influenced by our favourite bloggers.

Q1//Who are your most influential bloggers? Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?
There are quite a few bloggers who I read on a regular basis who made me have a desire to start my own blog and these include the lovely Anna from 'Vivianna Does Make Up' and Esteé from "Essie Button". For swatches, like many others who have completed this post, my go to blogger has to be 'Temptalia'.

Q2//Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?
It really does depend on the product. For instance, if it were a nail polish and I liked the look of it then I would go out and buy it (this usually happens often thanks to Lily from 'Lily Pebbles'), but on the whole, I do tend to read a few reviews of a product before deciding whether or not I want it especially if its a skincare product as I have quite sensitive skin.

Q3//What is your favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
This is a toughie but I think it has to be Real Techniques brushes. Last year, I decided I wanted a new set of brushes that weren't overly pricey (yes MAC I'm pointing my finger at you) and had seen a lot of people raving about these so gave into the hype and I've never looked back since. They're affordable, amazing quality and work with so many products.

Q4//What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
Hmm I really can't think of one and this is most probably because I won't purchase a product to merely blog about it because it's all the rage, if I know I won't use it or like it then I'll save my money to purchase things I know I'll use more.

Q5//Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.
Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm review, Nars 'One Night Stand' palette review, Urban Decay 'Naked 3' palette reviewthe MAC 217 brush and Charles Worthington Texturising Spray.

Q6//Have you ever given into blogger hype? If so, which hype?
Definitely! RT Brushes, Naked Palettes, Barry M Gel Polishes, Emma Hardie Moringa Balm to name just a few and there is a whole host of products I can't wait to try this year. At the top of my list is the much raved about Nars Sheer Glow and some most of them are down to blogger reviews.

Q7//Have you ever avoided a blogger hype? If so, which hype?
The Maybelline Baby Lips. I really couldn't (still can't) get it into my head why people were obsessing over what appeared to be a simple lip balm with a slight colouration.

Q8//Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?
Before purchasing a new beauty product, the majority of the time I will read a few reviews and look at swatches to make sure it looks like it will suit me if it's a make-up product or work me if it's skincare. However, sometimes when I'm in Boots I do go on a bit of a spree and pick up products that look appealing to me and catch my eye. I'm a sucker for their 3 for 2 offers and cute packaging is also a serious downfall for me but if I swatch a product and like it, I'm more than likely to purchase it and if not at that moment in time, I'll always go back for it.

If you'd like to also complete this genius tag created by Danniella from 'Famous In Japan' then feel free as I'm not tagging any specific bloggers as I would like all of my lovely readers to give it a go.

Review: Nars One Night Stand Palette...

As soon as I saw the NARS 'One Night Stand' palette I just knew I had to have it. Blushes are my weakness so this just screamed "buy me, buy me".

I'd never actually tried any NARS products prior to this purchase but I've had the blushes on the little large beauty wishlist stored in my brain for quite sometime now. This is quite a large palette filled with four blushes, a highlighter and their oh-so famous bronzer Laguna.
What made me want this palette the most is the fact it contains three of their best selling shades: Laguna, Deep Throat and Orgasm all of which I have wanted to try. The other 3 shades are completely new to this palette.
The pans in this palette aren't much smaller than the singular NARS blushes so will last for a very long time. Furthermore, although they are still relatively large, the palette is still perfect for travelling.

Personally, I love this palette. The quality is amazing and I love having options all under one roof so to speak. NARS blushes cost £21.50 so this palette works out at great value costing only £45 but unfortunately it is no longer available as it was limited edition but you could always try Ebay.

Nails of the Week: Models Own Turquoise Gloss & Models Own Blue Glint...

Just the other day I received three HyperGel Models Own nail polishes when my sale order arrived and couldn't wait to give them a try so this weeks 'Nails of the Week' post features not one, but two of them as I thought these two colours would look gorgeous together and I wasn't wrong.

The colours I'm wearing here are 'Turquoise Gloss' a stunning summery green and 'Blue Glint' an ocean blue both of which are perfect for Spring/Summer.

These polishes are super glossy and have been inspired by the current gel nail trend taking over the beauty world; however, what's great about these is you can have the gel effect without the UV lighting or a trip to your local beauty salon.

These polishes glided effortlessly onto my nails and were opaque with only one coat but me being me applied two just to add to the opaqueness. As well as being opaque, the formula of these polishes is also quite thick hence the gel look. I've only been wearing this polish for five days but there's still no signs of chipping so I'll definitely be investing in more colours.

If you'd like to see what other polishes I got in my Models Own sale order then click here
Have you tried the HyperGel polishes, what do you think of them?

Models Own 50% off Sale Haul...

As a nail polish enthusiast, I really couldn't pass up the opportunity of bagging myself some Models Own nail polishes for half price making them £2.50 each instead of £5 (what a saving)!

I only have a couple of Models Own polishes so saw this as the perfect opportunity to try a few more as I really like the ones I already have.
One thing I was surprised to see was the fact that they had even included their brand new HyperGel polishes in this sale so obviously had to buy one three of these to try out as I've seen quit a few beauty bloggers raving about them and the colours look gorgeous. One thing I have wondered is whether they will live up to the standard set by Barry M or if they'll be even better. As well as picking up three of the HyperGel polishes, I also added two from the Hed Kandi collection to my basket.
L-R: HyperGel - Turquoise Gloss, Cerise Shine, Blue Glint Hed Kandi - Beach Party, Hedonist

I love the colours I picked up the sale and can't wait to get wearing them especially during the Spring/Summer months.

What I Bought in January...

Is it just me or has January gone over incredibly fast?

From what I have read it seems like a lot of bloggers have been taking a break from spending, now although I wasn't doing this, I think I've done quite well this month at not going overboard.
Whilst on a trip into town a couple of weeks ago, I picked up these few items from New Look. I'm loving their latest collection and love these few items I picked up. This gingham print sleeveless blouse is really on trend for this season and I adore anything mint so had to pick up this jumper. I also bought this burgundy heart print blouse as after lusting after the Burberry one seen on many celebs I just had to have it.
Then whilst in Boots, I picked up a Hi Shine Barry M Nail Polish in the colour Blue Grape after seeing it featured on so many blogs and falling in with the colour. It's very similar to Nails Inc 'Baker Street' but costs a fraction of the price. I also bought another Bourjois Color Boost in 'Peach on the Beach' as mine is almost empty and I adore this colour.

So that's everything I bought this month and I'm very happy with my purchases. Have you managed to control your spending this month or what have you been buying?

Nails of the Week: Leighton Denny She's in Fashion & Models Own Freak Out...

One thing you will probably notice from these posts is that, a lot of the time, I love to have an accent nail of glitter and this weeks comes in the form of Models Own 'Freak Out'. This glitter polish is without a doubt probably my favourite out of the ones in my collection as it goes with so many colours thanks to the mixes of pink and blue hues.

The polish I wear most often with this glitter accent is Leighton Denny's 'She's in Fashion'.  I love Leighton Denny polishes as they apply very easily and are very chip-resistant. This colour is a gorgeous purpley pink with blue undertones hence why its perfect with the 'Freak Out' glitter.

*Side note: I didn't post a 'Nails of the Week' post last week as I had cut all of my nails off and was giving them a little breathing space from nail polish for the week.*
