I've seen quite a few of these posts lately and have really enjoyed reading them so I just had to get involved even though I haven't officially been tagged. The blogging community has a huge effect on one another when it comes to what we buy whether its that lipstick we really don't need or that palette we're lusting after we're all guilty of being influenced by our favourite bloggers.
Q1//Who are your most influential bloggers? Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?
There are quite a few bloggers who I read on a regular basis who made me have a desire to start my own blog and these include the lovely Anna from 'Vivianna Does Make Up' and Esteé from "Essie Button". For swatches, like many others who have completed this post, my go to blogger has to be 'Temptalia'.
Q2//Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?
It really does depend on the product. For instance, if it were a nail polish and I liked the look of it then I would go out and buy it (this usually happens often thanks to Lily from 'Lily Pebbles'), but on the whole, I do tend to read a few reviews of a product before deciding whether or not I want it especially if its a skincare product as I have quite sensitive skin.
Q3//What is your favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
This is a toughie but I think it has to be Real Techniques brushes. Last year, I decided I wanted a new set of brushes that weren't overly pricey (yes MAC I'm pointing my finger at you) and had seen a lot of people raving about these so gave into the hype and I've never looked back since. They're affordable, amazing quality and work with so many products.
Q4//What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
Hmm I really can't think of one and this is most probably because I won't purchase a product to merely blog about it because it's all the rage, if I know I won't use it or like it then I'll save my money to purchase things I know I'll use more.
Q5//Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.
Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm review, Nars 'One Night Stand' palette review, Urban Decay 'Naked 3' palette review, the MAC 217 brush and Charles Worthington Texturising Spray.
Q6//Have you ever given into blogger hype? If so, which hype?
Definitely! RT Brushes, Naked Palettes, Barry M Gel Polishes, Emma Hardie Moringa Balm to name just a few and there is a whole host of products I can't wait to try this year. At the top of my list is the much raved about Nars Sheer Glow and some most of them are down to blogger reviews.
Q7//Have you ever avoided a blogger hype? If so, which hype?
The Maybelline Baby Lips. I really couldn't (still can't) get it into my head why people were obsessing over what appeared to be a simple lip balm with a slight colouration.
Q8//Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?
Before purchasing a new beauty product, the majority of the time I will read a few reviews and look at swatches to make sure it looks like it will suit me if it's a make-up product or work me if it's skincare. However, sometimes when I'm in Boots I do go on a bit of a spree and pick up products that look appealing to me and catch my eye. I'm a sucker for their 3 for 2 offers and cute packaging is also a serious downfall for me but if I swatch a product and like it, I'm more than likely to purchase it and if not at that moment in time, I'll always go back for it.
If you'd like to also complete this genius tag created by Danniella from 'Famous In Japan' then feel free as I'm not tagging any specific bloggers as I would like all of my lovely readers to give it a go.
