For this Monday's post I thought I'd share with you how I clean my brushes as this is what part of my Sunday always consists of (so much for a day of rest!)
I begin my dampening my brush under lukewarm water and then take a small amount of shampoo in the palm of my hand , I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo.
I then swirl the brush around in the palm of my hand, creating a lather, to remove the makeup and bacteria.
I then rinse my brush gently squeezing the soapsuds out of the brush.
If your brush is large or a one you use frequently, you may wish to shampoo it again to ensure the makeup and bacteria is fully removed - I do this with my foundation and powder brushes as these tend to have the most build up.
Once the brushes have been washed, I place them slightly propped up, so the brush head it facing downwards, on a towel to allow the excess water to run out rather than down the handle which could cause the glue to un-stick and the bristles to fall out.
And there you have it, fresh clean brushes ready for another week.
Although I only deep clean once a week, I do spot clean throughout the week using MAC Brush Cleanser. You can see a post on this here.
